Here is a picture of a Giant Jack O'Lantern pillow I crocheted for my kids. My 5 year old is holding it.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN TO ALL!

Hi~
Ever wonder what to do with those much loved T-shirts that somehow get ruined? Is there a spaghetti stain near the collar that just won't come out? Did some bleach fall on it & now there are a few spots with no color on them? or did some little hands try a pair of scissors out on that fairly new t-shirt & now it can't be worn again? Well, with 3 children these things do happen to me from time to time. And then, there are always those t-shirts that get out-grown but are still much loved. Of course if the t-shirt is worn out I just throw it away. But it is always a shame when there is one with something beautiful & colorful printed on it & I have to throw it in the trash. WAIT A MINUTE! IN the TRASH????? NO NO NO! When it is a special t-shirt that is much loved & the logo or whatever is printed is still in good condtion I turn it into a Throw Pillow! Yes, make throw pillows! Chances are that whatever the t-shirt had printed on it would most certainly make for a unique Pillow. Maybe even a conversation piece.
Here is what I did with two of my son't T-shirts that got messed up. The larger Pillow in the picture was a Zoo Animal shirt that he loved, but somehow ended up with glue on one sleeve that would not wash out. The smaller pillow was made from a Baseball T-Shirt that a pair of little hands got to with scissors. I bought two relatively inexpensive pillow forms & then I cut the printed area of the t-shirts out to fit the forms. You need one back part & one front part for your pillow forms. I then sewed the 2 pieces together & there are the two pillows I presented my son for his 11th Birthday! They were a surprise. He loved the pillows. He had missed the t-shirts & had been upset when he could no longer wear them. Now he is very happy.

Hi~

I wanted to share a bag that I made for my Best Friend's Birthday. Below are some close up pictures of the details of the bag. I used 4 different yarns. It was done in pinks & beiges. I used gold thread & beads on this one. Pictures of the fabric I used for the lining are also below.

Here is what she wrote me when she received the bag:

"That is one HELL of a bag--DAMN that is gorgeous--just absolutely gorgeous--I love it--I am telling you you must send me some to sell--that is a gorgeous bag--I will use it this weekend for sure--is there a pattern for this--u need to teach me--we need to do a crochet-a-long bag--damn this is gorgeous. This bag is gorgeous--this bag is gorgeous--this bag is gorgeous-I want to know how to make these--damn this is gorgeous--I am still in shock over this bag--my mouth is still opened wide!!

Thanks I LOVE IT".

Well I guess she liked it. LOL. We are going to try a crochet along. The problem is that she lives in Maryland & I live in Ohio. SO the crochet along will be via IM. My bags are usually one of a kind & therefore I don't write down what I create. So this will be an interesting crochet along.

To All those Leaving me Comments:

I greatly appreciate that you took the time to stop by & read my Blog.

To those that are crochetters & would like a pattern of something I make, I will try my best to tell you how I made it, but I rarely write what I create down. So I hope you are very imaginative & creative & can visualize what I write to you.

To those who just drop by & are not crochetters. Thank you for taking the time to read about my escapades.

To those who leave me comments & the comments are actually a pitch for your own merchandise,or business, unless it is beads or yarn, you are wasting your time.

To those who try to get me to join their online dating services. Sorry folks this Lady has been very married for the last 16 years to the same man & I plan to keep it that way. So you too are wasting your time.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi~

Anyone out there have more then one crochet project going at the same time? We live in a world where multi-tasking has become a way of life. Well, here is what I have going:

1. A very large Granny Square Afghan for My Mom's 80th Birthday ( I started it on her Birthday, that was the end of May. I hope to be done soon.)

2. A Halloween Poncho I am making my 5 year old.

3. I am making 12 inch Squares to contribute to A Yahoo Group that makes Squares for Afghans for Katirna Survivors ( is you interested in finding out about this group, please read my previous Post).

4. I am making seat Pads for a friends country Kitchen Table Chairs.

5. A Four Seasons crochet Bag for the the same friend with the country kitchen table chairs.

6. I am still working on a Beaded crocheted Lampshade cover for my favorite Living room lamp.

Well, no sooner I finish one project I think up of another. I am trying to get costume ready for my kids for Halloween. Let's make mine simple this year..... I'll just be a Witch again. A nice Beautiful Witch that is. I do not believe in the image of an old evil ugly witch, I like the good Witch of the North ( from the Wizard of OZ) best.

Well, the holiday Season will soon be upon us. This year I am making every body's gift & if someone doesn't like that I am making them, well, that is just to bad for them. So there!

I have had the misfortune to bump into people who try to diminish the true meaning of getting a handmade gift. Some people think that a handcrafted item is "beneath " them. Well, now, you look at the stuff that I make, check out the pictures of my work in this blog, tell me, would anyone out there mind so much getting something handmade by me? A lot of people do not realize that these handmade items take hours to make & if I am making something for someone, pretty much I spend those hours while I am making the gift thinking about the person who is receiving it. How many people who go out & buy you a gift spend hours contemplating what to give YOU & then hours thinking of you? No one. I too am guilty of doing this, but I found that I love crocheting & Beading & that I am good at it. So why not give special people something I make?
Years ago, clothes were made at home. Quilts were made at home, gifts were made at home. This world is so commercialized most people have forgotten that Walmart & Macy's have not always existed. Where did out Great-Great- grandparents get Christmas gifts from??? Was there a real North Pole? There was no Walmart, Kmart, Kohl's, or Macy's back then. Whatever store bought items there were were costly & most people made the gifts they were going to give.
Yes this world has forgotten the beauty, art, & love that goes into handcrafting something. Just as this world has forgotten the true meaning of giving.

Greetings to All,

I thought I would share with everyone a bag that I made for a Thanksgiving Crochet Exchange for one of the Yahoo Groups I belong to. The Guidelines of the Thanksgiving exchange was to crochet anything for your parthner using Thanksgiving/Fall Colors. So I designed & created this Bag for my exchange Partner, Shawn. She emailed me & said that she loves it! So now that she got her surprise I can share it with all of you.

The bag is made using 3 different colored yarns (Orange, Brown ,& Beige). It is lined with a pretty Fall Leaves Patterned fabric.

Hi Everyone,

I've been very busy crocheting all sorts of things during any free moments I have. Here is a Poncho that I designed & made for my youngest Daughter. She loves it. The camera's flash makes it look Blue, but it really is a very rich dark purple. I made her a hair scrunchie to match.I used red heart amethyst colored yarn & a purple glittery fun fur for the trim. I actually wrote this pattern down (surprize surprize!), but now I can't find where I put the paper I wrote it on! LOL
